Payment

A 50% deposit is required to confirm an order and schedule it into the workshop. For orders exceeding €4,000 an additional 25% will be due halfway through the making process. Photographs of the work in progress will be provided in this case.

Quotes are valid for 30 days from date of issue.

Balance is payable prior to delivery.

Once a deposit is paid it will be understood that details provided from the client are fixed and that the client agrees to these terms and conditions.

Any changes in the job specifications after deposit is paid, or after an agreed upon date, may incur further charges and extend the final delivery date.

All work produced remains the property of modet until final balance is paid in full.

Materials

Any samples provided for the purposes of choosing timbers / finishes / materials are a guide only. Timber, leather and stone, all being natural materials, will be subject to variations in grain, tone, colour and texture.  These natural markings are part of the quality of working with natural materials.  The customer acknowledges that any characteristics and variations are not to be regarded as defects for the purposes of assessing whether or not the goods are of satisfactory quality or otherwise.  Batch variation should be expected.

Do not use chemical cleaning products or bleach on timber products as this will remove the protective layer of oil from the timber.  Timber products will be affected by temperature extremes, which can cause cracking or splitting, and it is the responsibility of the customer to maintain a consistent temperature to avoid such instances occurring.  Timber colour will naturally vary with age and UV exposure.

Delivery

Once a deposit is received modet will provide an estimated delivery date. Our standard lead times are 16-20 weeks from date of deposit.  Larger orders may have longer lead-times.  Individual pieces in a larger order may be delivered as completed and invoiced individually.  If you require an order sooner, please contact us and we will advise of current production times.

Any required delivery costs, domestic or international, will be quoted at the time of invoice – and will stipulate the delivery mode. Where possible please advise final postcodes and any access considerations at the point of ordering.

Larger furniture pieces will be delivered and installed by us within Ireland. Please contact us if delivery outside of Ireland is required and we will provide a quote from a third party courier. Whilst every effort will be made to deliver projects in a timely fashion, in the event of late delivery due to unforeseen circumstances, modet will inform the client as early as possible as to the new delivery date.

Damage and repair

In the unlikely event that your product is damaged on delivery or installation, Modet reserves the right to repair it before offering a replacement item.

If your Modet product is damaged within your home by accident or customer misuse, Modet may be able to offer repairing / refinishing services as a cost agreed upon consultation.

Returns

All bespoke, customised and made to order pieces are non-refundable and non-returnable.

Bespoke Design Work

There would normally be no charge for the design process as we dedicate 10 hours of free design to proposals. However, if the design process becomes more lengthy than usual, or if a client wishes to make substantial changes at a late stage, there would then be a fee for the additional hours of work. Normally we reach a final design that meets or exceeds the client’s expectations before this becomes necessary but we would always let you know when we are approaching this point.

Warranty

We offer a 10 year structural warranty for furniture in private residential environment only. This warranty covers the workmanship and structural integrity of the furniture. This warranty does not cover wear and tear, third party supplied components (lights, fabrics, leathers etc.), accidents, damage done in moving the furniture, mis-use, lack of care or neglect of the furniture. Care instructions are provided with all furniture and are also available on request.
